The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and technically capable Senior Paraplanner to join a well-established, growing and highly respected Independent Financial Adviser based on the outskirts of Woking.

Working as part of a collaborative and professional Paraplanning team, you will play a key role in supporting a chartered Financial Adviser, with a broad range of complex financial planning cases. This includes work involving high-net-worth clients, pensions, investments, retirement planning, tax planning, trusts and inheritance tax strategies.

This role offers much more than report writing. You will be actively involved in researching solutions, contributing to client outcomes and participating in the firm’s in-house Investment Committee.

The successful candidate will be a highly organised, detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality financial planning support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse client information from fact finds, existing records and adviser meeting notes
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, including: Cash flow modelling, Pension and investment research, Retirement planning, Trust and IHT planning
  • Review and analyse existing client portfolios
  • Research and recommend appropriate products, providers and planning strategies
  • Prepare high-quality suitability reports and recommendations covering: Investments, Pensions, Drawdown, Transfers, Protection, Trusts and Inheritance tax planning
  • Support advisers in preparation for client meetings and reviews
  • Attend client meetings where appropriate
  • Liaise with providers and maintain effective professional relationships
  • Work closely with advisers, administrators and compliance to ensure efficient and timely business processing
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of legislation, regulation and industry best practice
  • Contribute to the firm’s Investment Committee and broader business initiatives

About You – You will have:

  • Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (preferable Chartered status)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Paraplanner within an IFA or Wealth Management environment
  • Strong technical expertise across pensions, investments, taxation, protection, trusts and estate planning
  • Experience using industry software such as Intelliflo, wrap platforms, FE Analytics and cash flow modelling tools
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and quality standards
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a professional team
  • Residency within a practical commuting distance of Woking

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Paraplanner to join our established team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys complex financial planning work and wants to play a key role in delivering exceptional client outcomes within a professional, collaborative environment.

This is a fully office-based role, offering close collaboration with advisers, administrators and fellow paraplanners.

The Role

As a Paraplanner, you will work closely with Financial Advisers to provide comprehensive research, analysis and technical support across all areas of financial planning.

You will be involved in the full advice process, from undertaking research and analysing client circumstances through to preparing high-quality suitability reports and helping develop planning strategies.

This role offers exposure to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake cash flow modelling and scenario analysis.

  • Support advisers before and after client meetings.
  • Attend client meetings where appropriate.
  • Ensure advice recommendations meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Keep up to date with FCA regulation, Consumer Duty requirements, legislation and industry developments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with providers and professional connections.
  • Contribute to the firm’s Investment Committee and broader technical planning initiatives.

About You

You will be an experienced Paraplanner with a strong technical knowledge base and a genuine passion for financial planning.

You will possess:

Essential

  • Minimum Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a dedicated Paraplanning role within an IFA, Financial Planning or Wealth Management firm.
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection, trusts, tax planning and inheritance tax.
  • Proven experience writing detailed suitability reports.
  • Experience using back-office systems, wrap platforms and financial planning software.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Professional, proactive and team-oriented approach.

Desirable

  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients.
  • Experience using Intelliflo, FE Analytics and cash flow modelling software.
